Christmas is Coming

Tuesday (12/18) was our girls day shopping and I just had to dig out my John Denver and the Muppets Christmas CD. Miss Piggy singing "Christmas is Coming, the goose is getting fat..." who doesn't feel in the Christmas spirit after that.

I love girls day shopping, we started is a few years ago, my Mom, Aunt Deb, Gramother and myself (the last two years Aunt Linda has come up from FL but she wasn't able to this year) we meet for breakfast make out our plan of attack and then off we go to the mall. We shop a little and then stop to get our picture taken with Santa. This year he was a younger guy, who was so not jolly. The picture came out cute and Aunt Linda sent us the goofiest hats. I've attached it here so you can all see it.

After our picture with Santa, it's time to shop some more...we usually stop about 2:30 for lunch and then finish up shopping just about dinner time. It is such a wonderful day and a great time to spend with just us girls.

Adoption Update

I have posted the pages from our photobiography on our blog in the hopes that maybe a potential birth mother stumbles on my page and thinks that Bob and I would be the perfect parents to raise her baby. Hey it could happen.

An update on our progress:
We got a call from Adoption STAR on 11/19 saying we were chosen by a birth mother in NJ, she was due on 11/30 and was having a little boy. We we're absolutely ecstatic and ran like crazy to stock up on the basics so we were ready to go to NJ upon a moments notice. What a great Thanksgiving celebration we had!

On 11/26, we had just come out of the bank with our certified check and got a call from Adoption STAR. Our birth mother had given birth over the weekend and decided to parent.
It was tough at first, you let all those ideas of what a great holiday your going to have with a baby in the house and how your going to get to spend 6 weeks curled up at home with your new bundle of joy. At some point within the next 12 hours it starts to sink in that it just wasn't meant to be. He wasn't our baby. Our baby is out there and hopefully he/she will be coming to us very soon. We're a loving couple who will give a baby a great life, why wouldn't we be chosen. It will happen, we just have to keep our hopes up and keep trudging through day by day.
